well, to begin with.. all women from the age of 20 at least.. should do regular breast examinations themselves. screening mammograms are done usually only for women over 35-40. especially if there is family history of breast cancer. also .. smoking has been asscociated with breast cancer and so middle aged smokers shud be screened. most breast cancers are diagnosed in women aged 35 and older.

Breast cancer is defined not by age but by tissue . . anyone who has breast tissue can develop breast cancer including children and males. Children have a different type of breast cancer than adults though . . so all ages should be aware of the possibilities.

It can happen at any age. I personally was 30 with my first diagnosis and 33 with my second. The youngest person I know of directly was 15 when she was diagnosed. But having breast cancer that young is very rare.
