When triple negative breast cancer spreads to the liver what are the chances of survival?
My friend was diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer that spread to her liver, after a year of chemo (not consistent, she has low blood platelets so they had to get a grip on that first) she went for a body scan..the tumor in her liver grew 2 cm and they found two more small spots in her stomach. I am in denial I know, but what are her chances of actually beating this? I am researching, but I really can't find ANY hopeful news. Is there any?

I wish I could give you some good news, but liver cancer is very hard to beat. I lost my cousin to this as a primary cancer and have lost several friends and family when it has spread to the liver.

I'm sorry to say, but the survival-rate at this point is only at ~10-15 % It's kinda difficult to measure survival-rates with cancer since it's also time-based. If she got diagnosed with it very recently, I'd say she has about 5 years left. Unless of course, she beats it. Tell her to keep fighting. ^^

Metastatic breast cancer is not curable even if it is not a triple negative. However, breasts cancers that are hormone receptor positive are much better managed. The median survival for your friendâ€™s cancer is 2-3 years. Iâ€™m very sorry.

How do lutein and zeaxanthin affect breast cancer?
I'm reading conflicting things on this. Some say it helps breast cancer, some say it hurts. I know all say its good for eyes. I'm looking for info on breast cancer and pls post websites- thanks

Risk from all forms of cancer seem to be reduced by eating a healthy diet, which inclues a wide range of carotenoids, including lutein and zeaxanthin. I have read that tofu eaten during adolescence may protect against breast cancer in middle age. The older you get, though, your genetics catch up with you, and for some people, diet is not absolutely protective, though it may postpone cancer until you are older. So, eat your spinach. I do!

What kinds of food that can help breast cancer?
Well, my mom friend got breast cancer. She is recovered but kind of weak. what kind of food do you people suggest?

Lots of fruits and vegetables and you can never go wrong with nutritious, vitamins and mineral foods. And blueberries and cranberries help a lot.

Just like any other time, a healthy diet is important, but there are no special or particular foods she should be consuming. I say this as someone who has been in remission from breast cancer for more than 5 years; I'm fit and well. I'm vegan, but then I was vegan long before my breast cancer diagnosis. Other than that I eat a healthy balnced diet, high in fruit and veg, but I didn't and don't deny myself a few treats.
