What are the chances of a 19 year old having breast cancer

What are the chances of a 19 year old having breast cancer?
I am 19 yrs old and a lump was recently found in my breast. I had an ultrasound and found that it was a solid mass. Then I had biopsy and today I met with the surgeon again and he said it looks like fibroadenoma and favors it but there are atypical "peculiar" cells also in the sample. He said it needs to be removed. I was just wondering what the chances are of it being cancer?

Hard to say, how large was this growth? Be sure to have it removed quickly. I believe that a small fraction (less than 10%) of suspected fibroadenomas are actually cancerous. Probably just a benign tumor though.
2 :
It is possible. But I would venture to say unlikely due to your age. Do you have any family history of breast cancer?
3 :
The chances could be very small. Have you had a mammogram? If your doctor says it needs to removed think about it. My grandmother was recently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. I'm sorry think it may not be cancer.
4 :
Generally the chances of having breast cancer at your age are very low indeed. 80% of people diagnosed with it are over 50, and women in their 20s and 30s with breast cancer are considered young to have it and account for only a very small percentage of those diagnosed. It is extremely rare in someone as young as you are. Nobody here can tell you for sure; it sounds to me as if your surgeon is erring on the side of caution, which is wise in my opinion. I don't kmow what he meant by peculiar cells; there are a couple of cancer doctors who answer questions on here sometimes who give excellent answers - with luck one of them will be along to advise you. Meanwhile, bear in mind how rare breast cancer is at your age, and how sensible it seems to follow your surgeon's advice to investigate and deal with this now. Sorry I can't be of more help
5 :
the biopsy sample should of been test for cancer,,,

How quickly can breast cancer spread to the brain

How quickly can breast cancer spread to the brain?
I have a relative with breast cancer and now she fears that it has spread to her brain. She just finished chemo in June of this year. Is it possible? She has been feeling extremely unbalanced lately and weak in her right arm and leg.

you say that she is feeling week in her right arm and leg hunny thats not form brain cancer thats from the chemo treatments thats not a sign of brain cancer it sounds like your kinda explainin a stroke but im sure that its just side affects of chemo
2 :
Metastasis is the process of the tumors 'seeding' microscopic malignant cells into the blood stream and/or lymphatic system. Once metastasis occurs than the malignant cells can travel anywhere in the body that blood goes. Systemic chemotherapy is used to try and stop the metastasis from growing new tumors in these distant locations. However, there is a problem with many type of systemic chemo when it comes to the brain. There is a blood-brain barrier that prevents many chemo drugs from entering the brain. So, it may be possible that your relative had a metastasis go to her brain and the chemotherapy she was using could not cross the blood brain barrier. My son has advanced cancer and when we were confronted with the possibility that his disease could travel to the brain, we found two chemo drugs that did cross that brain blood barrier . . Temozolimide and Irinotecan. Worked also to keep his sarcoma minimal and under control for a year. Your relative needs to call her doctor and schedule an imaging test (CT or PET) to see what is going on.
3 :
Unfortunately, that could be a sign of spread to the brain. How fast it spreads (if it does spread) depends on many things like what stage it was diagnosed at, cell type, biological markers, etc. Tell her to express her concerns to her doctor right away. It may just be some left over side effects from the chemo, but the only way to be sure is to check with the oncologist. They will be able to order whatever tests are necessary.
4 :
She should go talk to her oncologist. It differs in everyone.
