Usually brest cancer is detected in women around late 30's very less percentage of women younger age get breast cancer, Just under 7% of all breast cancer cases occur in women under 40 years old. However, breast cancer can strike at any age, and women of every age should be aware of their personal risk factors for breast cancer. There are several factors that put a woman at high risk for developing breast cancer, including: A personal history of breast cancer or some non-cancerous breast diseases. A family history of breast cancer, particularly in a mother, daughter, or sister. History of radiation therapy to the chest before age 40. Some studies have suggested that recent use of oral contraceptives (the Pill) results in a very slight increased risk for developing breast cancer over those who have never taken them. Women who have stopped using birth control pills for more than 10 years do not seem to be at any greater risk. Other studies, however, show no such effect. Researchers continue to study the conflicting results in these trials to determine if birth control pills play a role in breast cancer.

Hi lexie, don't worry. You wont get breast cancer at this age. It usually occurs in post menopausal women. So discard all your tension.

The chances are as close to zero as makes just about no difference. If a 13 year old had breast cancer, her case would make news headlines, and be written up in medical journals worldwide because if its EXTREME rarity. Breast cancer is almost unheard of in under 25s, let alone young teens. In fact fewer than 0.1% of all those diagnosed with it are under 30. It's rare in women under 40, and 80% of those diagnosed with it are over 50. When I was diagnosed with breast cancer, I was classed as a 'younger woman'; I was 50. Any changes you notice in your breasts at 13 will be normal hormonal development. If you're concerned, talk to your mum; if you don't feel comfortable about doing that, talk to your school nurse - she will be used to hearing worries like this from girls and will be able to reassure you. == Edit: @Goldie - in fact Sudhir is correct, most women diagnosed with breast cancer are post-menopausal. 80% of them are over 50, and the average age at diagnosis is a little over 60

Extremely unlikely. Nevertheless, if there are any symptoms, they should be monitored by a doctor.

First of all Sundir is wrong in saying breast cancer usually attacks post-menopausal women. That's total garbage!!! At your age, it's extremely unlikey that you have breast cancer. If you notice any unusual changes, ie. lumps, nipple discharge, etc. then consult your Doctor.
