Green tea, fruits and vegetables, whole grains and fish.
2 :
Mussels - there is something in them that starts with L that helps. Also drinking soy milk occasionally.
3 :
pomengranate, green tea, anything rich in anti-oxidents. or so they say, it has not been proven.
4 :
They say that vitamin D can help reduce breast cancer.
5 :
blueberries, blackberries, cabbage, healing foods prevent it. Also rub castor oil or olive oil on breasts.
6 :
I believe that it is cauliflower & broccolli.
7 :
I've heard that small amounts of dark chocolate can prevent breast cancer. Of course nobody knows of any sure-fire way to prevent it, or everyone would be eating massive amounts cocoa, red wine, and broccoli. Try looking in Prevention Magazine. You can find some good material in there.

How long will a dog live if we leave her breast cancer untreated

How long will a dog live if we leave her breast cancer untreated?
I noticed a small lump about the size of half of my thumb on my dog's nipple and a rice-sized lump near another one. It feels hard when you touch it but my dog doesn't seem to be in pain when we press on it. We think it's breast cancer but my parents say that since she's already 12 years old there's not point spending so much money on such a risky surgery. How long will she live from now if we don't do the surgery? How big will the tumor grow? And will she be in pain if we don't do the surgery?

First and foremost why the hell hasn't this dog at least been seen by a vet? You can't take a proper course of action one way or the other WITHOUT an actual diagnosis. For all you know its NOT cancer. so rather than playing 20 Qs about something you can't even diagnose get the dog seen by a vet and go from there.
2 :
Months. Probably and more tumors might also grow Yes! My dog just died of cancer (she had it in the brain too though). She was fine at first but the last 4 days of her life she was miserable ans unhappy.
3 :
There's no telling if it is cancer. What if it's something treatable? There's no telling how long she'll live with the tumors. Some are slow growing. Some are benign. There's no telling how big the tumor will grow. Benign tumors can get huge. Malignant tumors are usually lethal before they get too large. Either way, she'll eventually suffer. Maybe not now while they're small, but eventually they'll get big enough to press something painful. It's worth going to the vet to at least find out what's wrong. It could be something treatable. If it's cancer, removing the tumors will ease/end her suffering and give her lots more time with you. It's not all that risky. It can be expensive though.
4 :
WTF?! FIRST: take her to the vet to make sure it's NOT cancer if it is then DO something about it don't just let her suffer >:( and even if she does have it ar twelve she still deserves to have a longer life does she not? Please get your poor dog to the vet

What is Invasive breast cancer and how is it treated and what are the chance’s of living

What is Invasive breast cancer and how is it treated and what are the chance’s of living?
I just found out that my mother in-law was diagoed with Invasive breast cancer.

There are several kinds of invasive breast cancers. The most common is invasive ductal carcinoma, which appears in the ducts. Invasive or infiltrating breast cancer penetrates through normal breast tissue such as the ducts and lobules and invade surrounding areas. They are more serious than noninvasive cancers because they can spread to other organs, such as the bones , liver, lungs, and the brain. As far as her chances of living it depends on what stage of cancer she has along with tumor marker status, menopausal status, her age, her overall health and lifestyle. I have stage III B cancer had spread to my lymph nodes. My treatment consisted of chemo, first to try and shrink the tumor, then surgery (radical mast.) reconstructive surgery at the same time. Then 9 weeks later 33 treatments of radiation. I am now on hormone therapy for the next 5 years. I had 9 lymph nodes removed and cancer has spread into my lymphatic system, they were unable to remove anymore lymph nodes. Regardless of what stage she is in be there for her and don't let her give up. She's in for the fight of her life. Don't let her bottle up her feelings, she needs to open up and talk about her fears and feelings. Tell her to be sure to ask for her pathology report it will also help her understand whats going on. I will say a prayer for her, remember God will help.

I'm sorry to hear of your mother-in-law's diagnosis. Invasive breast cancer is breast cancer that has spread beyond the breast tissue and into surrounding areas. They are more dangerous than non-invasive breast cancers since they can spread to vital organs. There are two common types of invasive breast cancer: ductal carcinoma and lobular carcinoma. Ductal carcinoma is more common but both forms act in a similar manner. In terms of her prognosis, it would be very difficult to say here without knowing how advanced her cancer is and how the cells look under a microscope as well as other pathology information. Best wishes to you

Breast Cancer.

Breast Cancer.....................?
how do you know if someone has breast cancer? does it hurt at all? how do you know if you are at risk? i know that you get lumps, but wear? and what should someone look for? please help

you know if they have had a biopsy it comes back as cancerous and the person with it tells you it vairies person to person factor of risk raised if cancer runs in the family, person is over weight (that type of cancer thrioves of ostrogen which is made in fat) is female hasn't breast fed a baby has had cancer before (especialy in a nearish area) lumps could be anywear in the breast tissue (including armpit) someone should look for any changes in the breast tissue, or seems abnormal to you when in doubt see a doc
2 :
You usually don’t know if you or someone else has breast cancer. Pain is not a symptom if that is what you mean. If it is left untreated it will eventually become painful. If you are a postmenopausal woman you are at risk and the risk increases with age. If you started your period before you were 12 or menopause after you were 55, are both risk factors. If you were on HRT is another. There are several. However, it is rare for breast cancer to run in families as only about 5% are hereditary. Breast feeding does not affect your risk one way or the other. Although the majority of breast cancer patients do have a lump in their breast they often do not know it and not all breast cancers present this way. If you have to be diagnosed with breast cancer its best when it’s found on mammogram and you have not noticed anything different at all. This is way they are recommended annually starting at age 40.
3 :
Some symptoms include uneven size or breast position (one seems larger than the other or seems to rest lower than the other), detecting lumps when performing self-examinations, drainage from the nipple, or an inverted or discolored nipple. My wife was diagnosed with this disease last year. Although she had had lumps for over 10 years, they had only became a concern last Spring when she noticed drainage from one breast. She had no pain and I've heard most don't. Her only warning sign was the drainage. Risk factors vary with age and family history of breast cancer, and mammogram screenings should be performed yearly. Twice a year after age 40. I listed some links. Please read. Good luck, Mark the charityplush.com team

breast cancer?
ok i was watching Scrubs, I know it's not a reliable source but i had to ask...one patient was having pain in her aoreole [i assume it's the nipple] and the "doctor" said it was breast cancer...is there a link between pain in the aoreole and breast cancer? i'm asking because well my left nipple is hurting me but i'm about to have my period also i've been having shooting pains but i think it's related with underwire in my bras...i have a phobia of doctors and needles, i'm seeking therapy, once i get over it i'll go see a doctor

It's normal for your breasts to be tender just before and during your period. You should already know how to do a self breast exam, but if you don't ask your doctor to show you how and if you find something unusual or abnormal, get in and get it checked right away. You should also be going for regular checkups and mammograms as well. Bottom line, if you're concerned, see your doctor.
2 :
Ive had breast cancer and i did have shooting pains but not in my aureole. If your about to start your period its probably nothing. But if you are really worried the best thing to do is go get checked. It wont hurt to make sure and to ease your mind. I thought mine was nothing and waited a year before I did anything and my cancer was found to be in its 3rd stage and spread to the lymph nodes. good luck

Breast cancer

Breast cancer?
Why is breast cancer a hot topic? I think that it is wrong to just sell pins none stop and have talk shows about 24x7x365. We also have walks, talks etc.... yes it is terrible thing but if women take care of them self and do check ups they can be proactive... and save themselfs.... how about diseases or illnesses that people cant do anything about- like parkinsons, multiple sclerosis, leukimia, Lou gerids etc... how about them? I think Breast cancer is terrible but you have options...other people dont... why dont we focus on disease in general... or is this a fear thing on women...

your a crackhead.... hopefully you'll get cancer in your balls, and then we'll discuss what you could've done to prevent that.......
2 :
Brest cancer just affects much more people than Parkinsons, for example. I am not saying people with Parkinsons suffer less, it's just less of them. Every woman is afraid of breast cancer - that's where all these talks are coming from.
3 :
The reason why some diseases get more attention than others because someone decided to raise their voice about it. If someone raised their voice as loud for MS, Lou Gerids, Parkinsons, they'd probably get as much attention too.
4 :
It's because breast cancer is affecting far too many people lately and someone finally stood up and decided to do something about it. Everyone knows someone or knows someone who knows someone who has it & that gives them a personal connection to the disease and makes them want to do help conquer it! It can be prevented and that's why there's so much discussion about it. Because people are trying to stop it from being so common. This shouldn't be considered a "bad" thing. If we can stop one more person from suffering through it then why shouldn't we? And yes, other diseases should be noticed too, but realistically not every disease is going to be put in the spotlight. At least we're tackeling this one disease at a time. :)
5 :
Today's the last day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month... discussion should taper down a bit until next year. Did you know that Breast Cancer Awareness Month was actually the brainchild of a British chemical conglomerate Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI) which for the past 20 years has been the largest manufacturer of Tamoxifen? They also produce Agent Orange and DDTs, which studies have found are be specifically associated with increased incidence of breast cancer. So, basically, they're making a fortune off of a disease they contribute to causing. The sad part is, women contribute wholeheartedly to programs like Race for the Cure... believing that they're truly making a difference, when all they're doing is using their hard-earned money to line the pockets of some of the wealthiest corporations in the world! (It's true...the American Cancer Society is the wealthiest nonprofit organization in the world!) They're guilting women into participating by claiming that with "just a little more money," they could find the cure for cancer. How many years have they been saying that, now... ? I've said it before, and I'll say it again... breast cancer is extraordinarily profitable, if you're on the right side of the fence.

I am very angry about all this cancer stuff. My sister does not have any insurance and has three lumps in her breast. Do you think they would pay for a mammogram NO. She had to pay 200 for the mammogram and then they said she needed an ultrasound which cost another 250. She paid it then the clinic said the first appt. she could get is Dec 7,06 to see a surgeon because she needs a biopsy. One of the lumps is so big it shows from under her shirt. I am so mad I could scream. You know years ago I walked in the relay for life. I walked three years in a row and got money for them. I am sorry, Wait until you need it or someone in your family and see how much help you get. She lives in Danville Virginia and has called everyone there to get help. No one can help
7 :
its so that people and be aware my grandmother checked herself had her yearly mamogram and she ended up with breast cancer and she had a double mastecamy she was cancer free for 10yrs and then it can back into her bones and she lost the fight this year so i think you need to realize that...
8 :
" I think breast cancer is terrible but you have options..." That is an interesting quote. I was diagnosed at 29 years old while I was 8 months pregnant. While I have been very lucky and have done everything I can, from a double mastectomy to chemo to radiation to a years worth of an antibody, a 5 year study, and taking pills for 5 years, there are other women out there who don't have those options. Either the cancer has spread too far to control, or maybe their cancer is not receptive to the antibody I spoke of, or maybe since they were ER- they can't take the pill that I can. So you see, breast cancer is not black and white and everyone does NOT survive it. Like other cancers, it can return at any time, leaving you the rest of your life worrying about it. I don't know why people are asking this question over and over on the cancer board. Why not post under just diseases and conditions instead of in a cancer board where women like me end up feeling guilty because we got a type of cancer that gets more publicity than others? And yes, it is a fear thing in women in a society where breasts and bodies matter. Let me tell you, it's not much fun to have them cut off. I had to wait 6 months before I could have reconstruction so I have to put fake ones on, which limited the types of shirts I could wear, and were hot, and made me sweat, and running....well....let's not go there. P.S. I found the lump, but the mamogram showed 3 lumps total, the biggest one was 4 cm. My surgeon told me that normally it takes about 8 years for a tumor to grow that big. So just when I was graduating college could be the time that it started growing. I guess I should have been "proactive" then.
9 :
those things are actualy more controlable than you think

are you being abused? if you are,you should get help
2 :
Who on earth is punching you?? If this is a domestic situation you need to report this. If it is your boyfriend get away from him. No, you won't get breast cancer from being hit.
3 :
no. but don't get into fights!
4 :
no you can't, but you need to get help, doctor, church , school, police, or someone close you can trust..
5 :
First, hon, who is hitting you???? and secondly, no, not this year. but we are not sure if repeated trauma will induce breast cancer later..... say in 50 years. No one has conclusive testing in that area, at least nothing I have read. It isn't a usual question on people doing studies.
6 :
no way. and who the hell is punching you. s/he sure sounds like an a hole
7 :
No. But if you study natural cures for beating cancer you won't be afraid anymore

0. It does not depend on age, although you are more likely to get it when you are older.
2 :
thier is no definte age to get but gennerally it is seen in age group of 30-40 years
3 :
Only 5 percent of all breast cancer cases occur in women under 40 years old. Still, breast cancer can strike at any age. More than 90% of women whose breast cancer is found in an early stage will survive. The youngest age a breast cancer attack is possible is roughly 15-20
