Does drinking water from a plastic bottle that was left in the car overnight cause breast cancer

Does drinking water from a plastic bottle that was left in the car overnight cause breast cancer?
Toxins from the plastic bottle leak into the water if it is left in a warm place overnight. These toxins are known to cause breast cancer.

why just breast cancer? surely if the toxins are as bad as you say, it could cause cancer anywhere in the body. I have done it loads of times and thankfully I don't have cancer.

It actually can...... The reason why, is that when heat gets to the plastic bottle, the plastic slowly corrodes inside of the water. There are dangerous chemicals in the plastic.

I've heard that but in this day and age, what doesn't give you cancer?

Do you think those bottles are being kept cold at the storage facility and during shipping? I would imagine that leaving it in our car overnight is the least of our worries, if it being warm does cause cancer.

.. These day people think anything can give you any type of cancer.. Do you honestly think that finishing off that water is going to give you cancer.. .. the odds kind of point to no.. I don't care what scientist think.. [dumb]

no. cancer is a complex process that is not fully understood but requires environmental and sometimes genetic factors and exposure. All these things that are known to cause cancer don't actually really CAUSE cancer (maybe with the exception of smoking, but not all smokers get cancer) but increase your risk of it.

There are different types of plastic bottles. Some arent even supposed to be reused. Others can be used over and over. I read a article in the paper about this. But I know that when I worked at a gas station some of the drinks we recieved (mainly gatorade) was not cold on arrival nor was it stored in a cool place. I dont even know if they ship any drinks cold (other than beer). So I would hope the answer would be no. You can do some googlin and find a lot of info. Ha my mom still has the article on the fridge, google the chemical Lexal in plastic bottles.

No, it's an urban myth/legend, originating from a hoax email that was widely circulated last year. These links give the facts behind these rumours/hoaxes about plastic water bottles and breast cancer. Sheryl Crow is supposed to have claimed on Oprah that this is what caused her breast cancer, As you'll see, Oprah Winfrey's company, Harpo, denies that Sheryl Crow ever made those remarks http://urbanlegends.about.com/od/medical/a/bottled-water.htm http://www.snopes.com/medical/toxins/petbottles.asp

Just saw a thing about that on television about three weeks ago. Some companies are having their bottles made somewhere and they were finding cancer causing chemicals in the plastic. I didn't pay attention because I don't buy bottled water.
