risks- family history (although not always), smoking. symtoms-the ever present lump in the breast that might be painful might not be. always do self breast examinations an go get a mammogram once you are of appropriate age, or before if you suspect you might have it.

the thing that puts you at the most risk is not getting checked. early to mid twenties you should start getting clinical breast exams and depending on your background your doctor can decide when to start mammograms. the thing about breast cancer is there is NO definite cause or reason for a woman or man to get it. but the usuals are being over fifty, being a woman, smoking, family history of it, or even having had it before. but let me point out that only 20 - 30% of women that get breast cancer have a family history of it. my source below would be a good place to do research on it

RISKS: Smoking; Fluoride; Fat/Oils (even vegetable oils), X-Rays, genetically modified bovine growth hormones in dairy products. You should eat one dose of Omega-3 fatty acids, but otherwise reduce your exposure to fats. SYMPTOMS: Your first clue will be a lump in your breast. It could be sore.

Number one is just being a women, family history, first born child after the age of 30, Hormone replacements
